Thank you Deputy Pitman

Deputy Trevor Pitman

I would like to thank Deputy T Pitman for submitting this oral question.

11.   Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Minister for Home Affairs –

“Will the Minister confirm whether he was ever advised by the Chief Minister that the former Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police had requested, on 3rd April 2010, that his response to the Wiltshire Report should be published?”

The  question relates to the letter sent by the former Chief of Police Graham Power to the Chief Minister on April 3rd 2010.  Graham Power stated that if the minister for Home Affairs was going to release any parts of the Wiltshire Disciplinary Report then his report (statement) should be released at the same time.

So, what the hell has gone wrong (AGAIN)

Everything this Government has done in relation to Graham Power & Lenny Harper has been a monumental disaster.

What really scares me is that the vast majority of the States Chamber just sit back and let this happen

How many times do you have to catch these two out before the penny drops?

There should be a vote of no confidence against ILM. How has he been allowed to get away with trashing a man's reputation and with not so much as a murmur from the vast majority of the chamber

Is it gross incompetence or is it corruption at the highest level?

I have been asking straight forward legitimate questions of our Home Affairs Minister but nothing comes back. I will keep asking and researching.

One great big serious Disaster

Truth HONESTY and Integity

Rico Sorda

This is what Graham Power asked of the Chief Minister in April 2010 and I quote;

"I regard the threat to publish the report at this or any other time as an expression of malicious intent, and should publication occur, all of my options are reserved.   However, without prejudice to any of the above, your intention is drawn to the existence of my own report on the management of the enquiry which is set out in the form of an extensive statement, a copy of which is in the Ministers possession.   Should the Minister decide, in spite of all of the above, to proceed with further publication of the Moore report, then it would appear to be entirely reasonable that my own report be published at the same time."

Nice one Trevor Pitman who is a man of truth, integrity and honesty.

This will be an interesting question and an even more telling answer.

Can we expect the truth? - I think not, but there is no answer that can be given that can be credible, believable or not more damaging to Ian Le Marquand or our CM.

Thank you Trevor, and Rico - who will be brave enough to bring about the much needed and long overdue vote of no confidence against ILeM?

Answers on a postage stamp please.

So it would appear that it was a suggestion to publish and not a request.
Nevertheless, out of courtesey and fairness you would have thought that an ex judge would have, at least, discussed the matter with the defendant.

I met Deputy Pitman recently. I happened to mention a problem I was having. Deputy Pitman did not hesitate to offer his help. I was at that moment lost for words as no other States member has shown any interest. Thank you Deputy Pitman you made my day!

I believe that is quite clear

100% clear

Taking this sentence from Mr. Power's letter "then it would appear to be entirely reasonable that my own report be published at the same time."

What's the betting that the old "back room boys" get Le Marquand to say "that isn't asking to have his defence published, it only says, in Mr. Power's opinion, it would be reasonable and I don't share that view."

Credit to Deputy Pitman once more for not showing any fear in his quest for truth honesty and integrity.

lol you never know.

Remember that was April 3rd 2010 Wiltshire was released on July 13th 2010

On such a big issue you would have thought they would have been on it. My guess is ILM will say 3 months wasn't enough time to do it lol

Disaster after Disaster

What,s the bet that le marquand goes sick on the day? or say,s the letter from MR Power was never recieved by le sueur,

voiceforchildren said...

Rico.

Not forgetting that Mr. Power is always one of the last people to know what ILM is going to publish, or dropping disciplinary charges etc. If ILM was acting in a fair manner, he would have made sure that Mr. Power was one of the first to know these things. As it was/is Mr. Power has to find out all this information from third parties as Le Sueur and Le Marquand don't/won't tell him.

The trouble with these questions is that the corrupt have time for the law officers to give them a half viable answer!

These type of questions need spontanious answers, and perhaps should be asked when there is an opportunity to avoid delay in answering....

rico sorda said...

Its the chief ministers turn for question without answers on tuesday so he can be asked too. They will say something then you take it from there.

rs

Ian Evans said...

Yes, but this question is now anticipated and a swift shrewd answer will already be to hand!

Then, no doubt, a barrage of right answers from the Chief Minister in response to any further questioning on said issue.

It really is that simple....

Anonymous said...

So again, we have to ask why this stuff keeps happening, and Graham Power has reminded us that the answer is still STATE SPONSORED PAEDOPHILIA. Repeat daily.

rico sorda said...

They will have to give some kind of answer and then you work from there. Its why Dave Warcup is no longer here. You get the first one in and start chipping away. They know the question is coming and I cant wait for the answer because no matter what it is exposing these clowns as incompetent or corrupt or a mixture of both.

rico sorda said...

Well I will wait and see what we get from ILM & TLS this coming tuesday.

In early September 2008 Graham Power called in the Metropolitan Police to do a review of Operation Rectangle. This is common police practice as they are critical reviews and are carried out up and down the country. They are instigated to iron out problems and to further the General level of policing in major investigations.

But what did our lot do????????????????????

They used this review as the backbone for suspending Graham Power. The first time that a Chief of Police has ever been suspended on the back of a Met Review. They didn't even wait for the Met to interview Lenny Harper or Andy Baker from ACPO they went off an interim report. The Met blew a fuse and banned ILM from using it when he reviewed the Graham Power suspension.

Then we have the Wiltshire Disciplinary Report;

This was way over budget and missed every deadline known to man + a million quid from the Jersey Taxpayer. This was meant to be the one that would allow GP to give his side of the story and cross examine the star witnesses. Wiltshire were called in when GP was suspended on the 12th November 2008.

But what did our lot do??????????????????????

ILM dropped the disciplinary case against GP and then went about destroying his own reputation in what can only be a personal vendetta

When you stand back and look at what has been allowed to happen it's shocking. What good does Jersey deserve when we are run by such deviants?

Im not a religious person and I have no problems with those who are but the ones who really get my goat are the ones who commit sin all week and think that a couple of Hail Mary's on a sunday morning makes it all right.

We are surrounded by them

rs

voiceforchildren said...

Rico.

Not only did Ian Le Marquand strain relations between the MET and Jersey by abusing their Report, but it would be interesting to find out how Jersey's relationship is with the Wiltshire Constabulary now.

The Wilts Report was even exempt from FOI. It was highly confidential and only the "outcome" of the proceedings "might" have been able to be published.

As we know there was no "outcome" as there were no "proceedings" but good old Ian redacts the living daylights out of it. Not a single word of Mr. Power's defence statement and blurts it out all over the "discredited" media.

Also as you know, we don't know what this has done to the relationship between Jersey and Wilts because Wilts refuse to tell us by ignoring our e-mails.

Just thinking about it, the very short time that Ian Le Marquand has been a politician he has managed to pee a few people off and not just the public he is supposed to be serving.

Not withstanding the un-measurable damage he has caused some Abuse survivors, Lenny Harper, Graham Power and their families, but I dare say he wouldn't be flavour of the month with the internationally respected institutions he appears to have tried to discredit with his little vendetta.

Her Majesty's Inspectorate Constabulary (HMIC), the Met Police, the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Possibly Wiltshire Constabulary. Nationally and internationally renowned homicide detectives. He's had a go at discrediting them all, well that is except for Wiltshire because they were able to give him some negative stuff about Graham Power, that he in turn, could deny Graham Power the right to a fair hearing and just give it to the "discredited" media.

Rico, how can Graham Power be complaining in April about ILM releasing parts of Wiltshire when it appears that he didnt release the initial redacted summary report till July?

rico sorda said...

Hi Anonymous

First let me say im very sorry to hear about your brother. People can comment about whatever on my blog as long as it's not libel so don't worry about going off topic. Deputy Pitman has been a great help in our quest for the truth and I have nothing but respect for the Pitmans.

Hi Anonymous

GP was replying to ILM's radio broadcast where he said he would be releasing extracts of the Wiltshire Disciplinary Report. This was in April. And if ILM did release extracts that his defence should also be released

Thank you Ian for your link to Robert.
He mentions that Stuart cannot get legal aid.

If there is one thing that Stuart appears to not like, its innacuracies, except possibly,in spelling :). Stuart HAS been offered legal aid but has turned it down, feeling(I assume)that any local based
advocate would not be sufficiently independant of the Jersey legal system. UK legal proffesionals are occasionally bought in to help in cases were a particular expertise is not available locally. Stuarts case is within the ability of the local legal proffesion.
He has chosen to not accept the available legal aid and i am sure that he would confirm this,if asked.

No one has contacted me in fact as I come up to my first anniversary no one has ever contacted me. Who would report me lol

I post under my name in fact I never hide. Research and truth is all I do with a little humor chucked in. So, in answer to your question NO.

But if you do go down that route make no mistake im more than ready for you and the battle, it might be the only way in bringing this to an end.

Don't contact me again

ILM emailed Graham Power asking his requirements re his defense document.
No reply from GP.
Why not?
Pity that this wasnt known before THE question was asked in the States chamber.

'Don't contact me again'

Nothing but a hypocrite. You think you can insult my wife on here with your slurs about her reporting and then claim you are above the law by saying you are joking. Don't worry we won't contact you, but you have been reported together with the butt wipes you linger with and that is the real truth. This blog and others is now in the Police spotlight and its about time.

ILM wrote to Graham Power. They sent the letter to the wrong address as all will be explained very shortly. You are also forgetting that GP wrote on the 3rd April 2010 asking for his defence to be published

rs

Anonymous said...

As far as i know someone who writes public articles should be used to criticism from the public as well as their peers bit like an author of a book has to take the good reviews along wjth the bad. Same for rico and any other person writing stuff in the public.

I dont doubt that the person writing the above is not mr simon and is in fact the one qand only idiot who cant quit his verbal diareah and needs professional help.

I am sure if d simon was that bothered about criticism she would come on here and say it herself. As a professional journalist i am sure she doesnt need some pratt mimicking her fella to fight her corner. Am sure she is more than capable herself.

Time to grow up little child.

If on the otherhand that is d simons bloke then the third paragraph still applies.

Anonymous said...

No Rico,I had not forgotten April 3rd. Just suprised that if GP was that keen to publish his defense, why he never replied to ILM.
ILM did say that the email was sent to GPs 'agent'.
But if as you indicate,it was sent to wrong address, your picking up on it will, belatedly correct the matter. I could suggest that GP should have persevered and repeated his request, but I suspect that he has accepted that nothing, apart from suspensions, happens quickly around this whole issue.

care to explain 'select a profile'

rico sorda said...

When ILM released Wiltshire he should have released GP's Statement as he had asked on the 3rd April 2010. The fact that he has to rely on a totally incompetent government is not his fault.

ILM didn't even inform GP when he dropped all disciplinary proceedings

Graham Power has been offered nothing in this sorry mess if it were not for the Blogs none of his side of the story would have seen the light of day.

You Say

"I could suggest that GP should have persevered and repeated his request, but I suspect that he has accepted that nothing, apart from suspensions, happens quickly around this whole issue."

That is correct. Who could forget GP's complaint board hearing

If Diane Simon's husband (Jon)is now so concerned about the way he feels she has been treated then he might politely ask her to, in future, answer your emails and if she cant bring herself to do that then the least she could do is ask (as a member of the accredited press) some to the many questions you have posed to goverment officials over the last year.

If she did that (and delivered in her role as a journlaist) she'd quickly find that the justified criticism she has received from citizens media would quickly dry up.

It's really that simple.

I occasionally read comments on taking civil action against Jersey child abusers.

who will finance it.
How will this be done.
When can it be done.
Who will do it.
Can only those who have been criminally charged be pursued, keeping in mind that particularly well known one has not been charged.

"Don't worry we won't contact you, but you have been reported together with the butt wipes you linger with "

Rico, I haven't been on your blog for a few days, I have been very depressed because of the Neil Morrissey program, because I was in that same Pindown home where his brother was and found it really upsetting that the programme skirted round the truth - Richard Wise was not even mentioned.

So I have just come on here and read this really offensive remark. Please can you confirm this, to see if I have got this right - is this Diane Simon's husband calling us butt wipes? We are your friends, me and Carrie and Lorna and many others. Surely he knows that we are survivors of institutional child abuse? Have I got this righT?

Zoompad said...

Diane Simon Richard Webster Bob Woffingham and David Rose have deliberatly trashed institutional child abuse investigations all round the UK, not just Jersey. They have protected child abusers by doing so and put children at risk. I was in "care" because I had been raped, I was not going round robbing people like Neil Morrissey, or hurting anyone else, I was put in "care" because I was locking myself in a room and screaming, because I could not deal with what was happening to me, and playing truant because I was exhausted all the time and not able to do my homework, and I was getting told off at school for not doing homework, I was not being disruptive, I was not hurting other people, I was a sad little girl who was being raped and had noone to tell. So they put me in a Pindown home that was being run by paedophiles. And they always try to say that all the kids that were put in those hell holes were "no angels" to try to excuse what they did to us, as if we deserved it. And now this tosser is calling me a bum wipe! HOW MANY MORE INSULTS AND SLAPS DO WE HAVE TO ENDURE?

rico sorda said...

Zoompad

I do not believe for one moment that it was D. Simon's husband that left the comment, im not sure if she is even married. The comment was so childish that it is safe to say that it wasn't him. I hope you are feeling better. It's a very long road that is for sure. You take care and keep fighting hard you are are more stronger than the idiots who try and put you down.
