D/Supt Mick Gradwell - Where are you???????

Having raised the questions concerning Superintendent Andre Bonjour and the South Yorkshire Police Investigation I thought I would revisit this old posting. The reason for wanting to know that S/Y police fully vindicated Bonjour is quite obvious.

Now think about what I had posted previously concerning former SIO of the historical child abuse investigation Mick Gradwell. Why was it that it was only Mick Gradwell who refused to give evidence to the Scrutiny Sub Panel? You could not shut this guy up when it came to trashing the HCAE then as soon as he gets asked to explain himself he has turned into Lord Lucan..

Feel Free to add to the old comments

Rico Sorda

D/Supt Mick Gradwell

In September 2008 Mick Gradwell is seconded from the UK and made Senior Investigating officer (SIO) of Operation Rectangle "The Jersey Historic Abuse Investigation" (HCAE)

D/supt Gradwell has has been very vocal on Lenny Harpers handling of the 'HCAE ' in fact one could say you couldn't shut him up.

I have spent the weekend researching Mr Gradwells press releases concerning the 'HCAE' I was looking for the positive things he said about the former SIO Lenny Harper & his team, seeing as they were the ones who broke down the veil of secrecy regarding decades long abuse, I couldn't find any.

One thing we do know is that he wasn't worried about talking or leaking to the med

First up we had the now infamous press conference of the 12th November 2008. During this time Mick Gradwell was interviewed by the BBC where he went on to show alleged evidence to the reporter again this was done during a live Investigation this can be viewed here

During this same time we get the first sign that Mick Gradwell is talking to Daily Mail Journalist David Rose. Mr Rose came on the scene in early 2008 when he was being leaked confidential emails but in his article dated 15th November 2008 we get out first glimpse of Gradwell & Rose working together. This is what David Rose says;

"Since February 23 this year, when the island's then deputy chief officer, Lenny Harper, first addressed them outside the granite walls of the Haut de la Garenne former children's home, they had been led to believe it had been a house of horror - a place where children were tortured and abused in a labyrinth of cellars, and that possibly as many as seven were murdered.

Now, a bluff, straightforward and extremely experienced Lancashire detective, Det Supt Mick Gradwell, who had taken over the investigation after Mr Harper retired in August, was telling them that most of what they had been told about Haut de la Garenne and Mr Harper's £4.5million inquiry was nonsense."

"llustrating his presentation with slides and the actual physical evidence, he went on to demolish every detail that the world had been told supported the notion that children had died in horrifying circumstances.

For example, the home's 'cellars' were not cellars at all but merely an underfloor space so low that any adult could only walk bent double, with no door or stairway leading down to it.

Metal 'restraints' were in fact an old bed spring, and a piece of wood on which someone had scrawled 'I've been bad 4 years and years' was not placed in the building until 2003 - 17 years after it ceased to be used as a children's home.

Yesterday, in an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Mr Gradwell, 48, revealed that such discoveries were continuing.

.

However, The Mail on Sunday has obtained confidential documents, including a crucial email written by Mr Harper and the official log book kept by his own forensic science team.

They show he repeatedly misled both the media and the island's government, and made a series of statements that proved to be inaccurate.

Now look what it says above - The Mail on Sunday has obtained confidential documents, a crucial email written by Harper and an official log book. This is the 15th November 2008 - Mick Gradwell gets interviewed and they have obtained confidential material

Now fast forward to the 1st & 3rd September 2009 and we have the two News Items by CTV.This time Mr Gradwell is again doing what he does best, thats Trashing the Abuse Investigation under Lenny Harper and his team.

Then on the 4th October 2009 we have the David Rose's Daily Mail article that goes into the leaked BDO Report - who is the link again? Mick Gradwell thats who.

The man no one can shut up has gone very quiet. As far as I know he is still the only one not to offer any evidence to the Scrutiny Panel. David Warcups submission has really caused a proble .

What has happened to D/supt Mick Gradwell

"Nothing to hide Nothing to Fear"

I will finish this very short posting with a letter from the JCLA that the JEP has refused to publish whilst the Scrutiny Review is in progress.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the summer sun

28th July 2011

Dear Sir,

May we, through the columns of your paper, express our incredulity and dismay at the rather prominent and misleading headline in the JEP, Tuesday 26th July – ‘Call for investigation into police links with newspaper’.Firstly, it appears you have proven the link of the leak to the police before any investigation has even been agreed. This leak could have also come from politicians or other sources. Your headline is therefore only a misleading assumption.Since the commencement and revelations of the ongoing BDO Alto enquiry, there appears to have been a renewed interest in damning Mr Harper, when in fact, there are others whose ‘misdemeanours’ rank above and beyond those of which Mr Harper is being made a scapegoat for.

In regard to the Child Abuse Investigation and the ensuing related matters may we make mention of Senator Perchard and Deputy Sean Power. Senator Perchard is known to have leaked a confidential police e-mail to known child abuse denier David Rose in regard to the Haut de la Garenne investigation. Mr Rose himself has confirmed this in a recorded telephone conversation. This seems most contradictory behaviour from the Senator. Can we assume that he agrees that his leak should be investigated?

Deputy Sean Power also who just ‘happened’ to find a confidential e-mail to another States Member. Not only did he just read it, but scanned and copied another party in on the private document. Subsequently this was published on a now defunct blog which was hell bent on destroying the Haut de la Garenne and child abuse investigation. Whilst he fell foul of the Data Protection Law, his only punishment was a slap on the wrists and his resignation as Housing Minister. How and why can this States member exhibit such double standards? Senator Shenton also undertook to fall foul of Data Protection laws by recording a private telephone conversation, keeping it under wraps for quite some time until he had the opportunity of using it as evidence against the person he had recorded. Not really the actions of an honourable man, who again was let off very lightly. Add to this his naming of Lenny Harper as Lenny Henry, and we have another politician who appears to show contempt for the law and the child abuse investigation.

The evidence regarding Mr Warcup and Mr Gradwell (the latter also leaking information to the press), which is emerging from the Scrutiny Inquiry, and we have a far bigger and wider picture than you choose to portray would also indicate these issues need to be addressed further.  The constant, ongoing vilification, unfounded allegations and innuendos of the SIO of a most distressing episode for those who were abused mentally and physically, raped, whilst in the care of the States of Jersey, only serve to act as a constant reminder for those victims, not only the members of the JCLA but other victims also. Some of these victims are still living each day with the damage that this has caused them. Mr Harper and Mr Power were held in the utmost respect by us, and were trusted also.

Neither bear any responsibility for all this.

We would therefore hope that in the interests of justice, balance and fairness, that the Attorney General and Chief of Police will also make investigations into the behaviour of the above named also, and again with those same sentiments in mind, we are also sending a copy of this letter to both the AG and Mr Bowron. We trust you will publish this letter in its full form. There is nothing contentious or untrue contained in it, and we have managed to withhold our feelings on all this over the past few weeks, but now feel that it is time our thoughts are also put into the public domain as an alternative view to this whole sorry affair.

Yours sincerely,

C Modral – Chair JCLA

Rico - just to make it clear, the JEP declined to print the letter for reasons which will become laughably clear in their response, and nothing to do with scrutiny.

This will be forwarded on to you for publication on your blog, when your readers will probably see the double standards that they
portray.

However as a pre-cursor to that they are very defensive of David Rose as an experienced journalist!

Thanks for posting the letter Rico on a site where we get the REAL news!

Bwahaha. They are almost the only newspaper employees in the world who would defend David Rose. Doesn't help him much, though, if the JEP is doing the defending, but it speaks even less of them. Its a good thing the JCLA know what to expect of those paedoprotecto-hacks and now have the much better alternative of these excellent blogs.

I would expect that David Rose is an experienced journalist.

However, being "experienced" doesn't necessarily make him good or honest in his work though. Clever choice of words on behalf of the JE....sorry ... RAG.

I cannot understand why anyone should object to the above statement. An adult could only walk bent double tells me that a child could walk upright. The areas under question now appear to be deep voids. That was not always the case as we know that at some time, this area where the bath was, used to be a work area high enough for adults to use.Sometime pre fifties the floor level was dropped, reducing the area to a deep floor void.....still sufficiently high/deep enough to abuse kids, but most definitely nowhere near high enough for adults to be walking around.

Rico - Here is the response that the JCLA received from the JEP in respect of the letter submitted to them.

We can analyse this bit by bit and we will, but it would be most interesting to see what readers of your blog make of it (just in case we have read it incorrectly!)

28.07.2011

Dear Ms Modral,

I write in reply to your letter of 28 July.

I have decided not to publish in its present form because it is based on a number of substantiated, and potentially defamatory, assumptions.

For example, you base your opening remarks on the clearly false assertion that our headlined (sic) referred to leaks and, in some unexplained way, attributed them to Mr Harper. Neither the headline nor the article did any such thing. You also sdtate as fact that David Rose revealed one of his sources of information in a telephone conversation, something which he denied and which, indeed, would be extraordinary behaviour for any journalist.

You go on to state that there is 'nothing contentiour or untrue' in your letter. That is a matter of opinion, not fact, and therefore not a basis on which I would agree to publish such a letter.

If you would care to redraft with these points in mind, I would be happy to consider the letter for publication.

Yours sincerely,

CHRIS BRIGHT
EDITOR

So, there we have it. Inferrances, assumptions, false assertions? Are we really guilty of all this when the JEP have been more than guilty of leading the general public down the garden path with their sensational headlines?

We think not, and will analyse each point bit by bit, but would appreciate any input from your 'readers' Rico.

There was a standard policy at the police station to record calls of the type recorded between Rose and the police department, in which Rose confided the source of the leak to him. Does the JEP not know about that? Does the recording still exist, or did it disappear later, along with other evidence, during the Warcup administration?

[So, there we have it. Inferences, assumptions, false assertions?]

I thought he was talking about Shenton, Power & Perchard, seems okay for them.

[something which he denied and which, indeed, would be extraordinary behaviour for any journalist.]

Strange that this logic does not extend to Mr Harper, he has not only denied allegations but provided evidence to support his case!!

Raymac is right, Chris Bright does not allow much controversial comment to appear on his spin pages. That's why it's a good thing the Jersey Blogs have the real news with the hard facts.

Rico and Team Voice do some excellent investigative reporting, sometimes in combination with video interviews which are far more enlightening than anything CTV could win any award for. Stuart advocates brilliantly in court and on line for the truth and justice on an international level, Ian facilitates the "Right of Reply" for readers on the more controversial topics when the JEP won't, and TJW provides the recordings of political exchanges. Cover-up Jersey maintains an up-to-date archive of Jersey's outrageous official media spin, and now there are more politicians blogging regularly about the real issues.

The mainstream media in Jersey could disappear and people would only become better informed than before.

Try searching the site for any of the following words separately: St Clement; crash; road; died; death; Dita

There are articles about other crashes listed but mysteriously not the St Clement's death crash.

If I am right, can you ask them why & post their response?

VERISONA SOLICITORS & ADVOCATES
02.08.11
PRESS RELEASE
Insult to Jersey abuse case victims
Still no compensation for victims of Haut de la Garenne horrors
Victims of the notorious Haut de la Garenne abuse in Jersey are still awaiting compensation more than three years after the case hit the headlines.
The wait continues for the victims, despite their abusers Michael Aubin, Morag and Tony Jordan and Gordon Wateridge being successfully prosecuted and convicted during 2010.
36 of the victims, many elderly and in poor health are represented by Solicitor Alan Collins of Verisona Solicitors & Advocates in Portsmouth.
He said: “The victims of these appalling crimes believed that following the guilty convictions, the States of Jersey would accept the allegations of abuse, along with its moral and legal obligation to compensate for the harm that had been inflicted. In fact, the State is actually scrutinizing the investigation that led to the convictions; unbelievably politicians in Jersey have questioned the truth of the abuse despite the guilty verdicts.”
One victim, who cannot be named due to the impact it may have on any civil proceedings, said: “The States of Jersey seems to have done everything in its power to try to bury this historic child abuse investigation. Its attitude has been ‘move along folks, nothing to see here’, it’s appalling. Politicians seem to care more about Jersey’s reputation, than they care about those of us who were mentally and physically abused as children whilst in the care of the States of Jersey”.
Another victim added: “The States seem more involved in fighting each other then assisting the victims. We are, as quoted by a States Member, ‘a bunch of disturbed minds & criminals’.”
Alan Collins, a specialist in historical child abuse cases, added: “The failure to compensate the victims is a case of rubbing salt in to open wounds. Many of the victims, as a result of the abuse suffered, are vulnerable. The children were in the State’s care and the criminal trials clearly exposed that this care was wantonly lacking. The abuse went on year after year.”
A former member of staff at Haut de la Garenne, not linked to any abuse, and considering giving evidence at potential civil proceedings said: “I would like to see as much time, effort and money put into the aftercare of 'my children' as is put into all these investigations into investigations”.
Mr Collins believes that the only way victims can now get justice is by taking proceedings against the States of Jersey.
He explained: “Civil proceedings would be regrettable because of the stress involved to the victims and witnesses, as well as the cost implications. The States of Jersey have put the victims in an intolerable position though and it is about time they did the right thing. No amount of money would make up for what happened but the gesture of meaningful compensation helps victims draw a line in the sand and move on. The horror of what went on at Haut de la Garenne will not go away.”
Jersey's historic abuse investigation ran from September 2007 until December 2010 with the conviction of married couple Morag and Tony Jordan, who were house parents at Haut de la Garenne in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Others were also suspected of abuse going back 70 years but died before they could be prosecuted.

Sorry to disagree.TRUE.
At the time that the abuse was going on, the cellars HAD been reduced to voids, only a small part of which was deep enough for an adult to stand erect, due to the sloping land on which the Boys Home was built. Take a look at THE video.
People have been claiming abuse down there,so how, when or why, did it ever turned into an issue of height.
I am an ex resident of the Home.Am also a supporter of Stuart Syvret.

November 12th 2008 at the Warcup/Gradwell infamous press conference it became an issue of height. You cant Abuse someone in a void was the message from Warcup/Gradwell. What era did the Abuse take place? Was it before the floor level changed? As you will know there was once a bath down there and the heights would have changed over the decades. Any information on this would be great.......

The floor level was altered sometime before the 1950's,from reading the book Channel Island Children.
The abuse seem to start from the early sixties when pedophile Colin Tilbrook became the new Superintendent.
I left in 1961 and paid a visit a year later. The place was quite obviously getting a much needed refurbishment and the regime a little less strict. The more relaxed atmosphere became apparant as i was shown around the place and we came across the bathroom. In just those twelve months what used to be an orderly bath night had turned into bedlam as kids chased around the communal bathroom.I recall even now decades later how surprised i was,and sort of envious that it wasnt like that when i had been there. With hindsight I now look on it as possibly a softening up process by the new man in charge,to ingratiate himself with the children.

looking at video and photos of Haut de la Garenne east wing I note that the window arrangement has changed dramatically.
Current images show two rows of windows above the 'cellar' area.
An early photo when the building still had its bell tower shows three rows of four windows at the 'cellar' end,one of which appears to be a door, proving therefore that there was at one time three floors and that the 'cellar' area was originally, proper rooms. Why it was changed I dont know.It cant have come cheap as it was major reconstruction and must be on record somewhere. Apart from the island of Jersey, who would not identify empathetically with the victims of child abuse? Oh well, David Rose perhaps, but he has already been largely discredited for his many lies on other matters. A cover up story this big will inevitably unravel. There are too many opposing players whose agendas are established, and far too much compelling human drama involving universal moral lessons for this to remain buried. Jailing Syvret was a fatal mistake for his enemies.

Police are reportedly now going to interview Ms Blee about the allegations and her knowledge of Tilbrook.

Her claims came as Jersey's minister for child welfare was facing accusations of sabotaging the inquiry into child sex abuse on the island.

Ben Shenton sent an email to cabinet colleagues ridiculing the investigation and mocking Lenny Harper, the policeman in charge.

"My wife keeps referring to Lenny Harper as Lenny Henry - I don't think she's far wrong," said the health and social services minister in his extraordinary message.

Mr Shenton questions whether Mr Harper - Jersey's deputy chief police officer - has ever been investigated for "adult abuse".

He ridicules the idea that the remains found last week beneath the Haut de la Garenne children's home belonged to a child rather than to animals.
And he attacks Wendy Kinnard, a fellow senator whose home affairs ministry oversees the police in the Crown dependency.

"Wendy, why was it announced to the media that a child's body was found when this was not the case?" wrote Mr Shenton.

"Why have you allowed your ministry to be run in such an unprofessional and shameful manner?"
He claims that one sex abuse victim, purportedly interviewed by The Times this week, died last year.
More than 160 others have told police they were abused at the "Colditz" care home between the 1950s and its closure in 1986. At least 40 suspects have been identified.

When the Daily Mail confronted Mr Shenton, a 46-year-old father of two, about his email, sent three days ago, he said: "It was an internal email. I'm just trying to get at the facts."

He dismissed his comparison between Mr Harper and Lenny Henry the comedian as "a slip of the tongue".

But Mr Harper, who moved to Jersey six years ago after serving with distinction in the Metropolitan, RUC and Strathclyde police forces - said he was taking the slurs seriously.

He plans to seek legal advice with a view to a libel action and warned that the email could be "a godsend" to defence lawyers when charges relating to the investigation are laid.

"The letter is rather childish but it's a clear attempt to damage the inquiry and therefore damage the interests of all those who were abused in that home," said the 56-year-old officer.

"You may well ask why the very man responsible for children's welfare on this island would wish to sabotage the investigation.

"That is for him to explain but all I can say is that it will not work. Nothing will distract me from getting justice.
"They deserve much better and I am determined they will get that from the State of Jersey police."
Mr Harper is said to have upset leading Jersey figures by briefing journalists on his investigation.
But he said the Association of Chief Police Officers had endorsed his methods which had also led to a large number of alleged victims coming forward.
The abuse scandal is a deep embarrassment to the tax haven island where privacy and discretion are paramount.
•The chief minister of Jersey was facing calls to resign last night.
Five groups demanding the removal of Frank Walker over his handling of the Haut de la Garenne inquiry have appeared on the Facebook networking website.
He is likely to face further criticism in a rally due to be held in the capital St Helier this weekend calling for a change in the way the island is run.

Kevin O’Connell, who was placed in the Haut de la Garenne home when he was 12, described how he was “frogmarched” to a cellar, put in a bath, sexually abused, and left in darkness. “Then you would get a kiss and a cuddle as though nothing had happened,” he recalled.

Paul Moed, who worked at Haut de la Garenne in the 1960s, said his warnings about headmaster Colin Tilbrook were ignored. He said: "I saw [Tilbrook] one evening walking with a pillow under his arm. I asked a colleague who he was and what he was doing and they said 'Oh that's Tilbrook, he carries the pillow so you can't hear the girls screaming'." Moed was told that Tilbrook had recently got a 14-year-old girl pregnant. Moed said he went to the police, but was advised not to talk.

There were also denials from authorities in the case of Jane and Alan Maguire, who allegedly committed “gross acts” of abuse while they were house parents at the Blanche Pierre family group home. Mrs Maguire had previously worked at Haut de la Garenne. Two staff members raised concerns, but there was no full independent investigation or police referral. Instead, the couple were asked to retire. A 1990 letter to the Maguires from the education committee said: “Once again many thanks for your 110% commitment and hard work, the proof of which will live on in the children for whom you have shown much love and care.” The case later came to the attention of the police, but was abandoned to due to “insufficient” evidence.

Police then wrongly believed Alan Maguire was dead. But Panorama tracked down the Maguires in France. “Do you admit that you abused small girls in your care?” shouted the reporter. The Maguires remained silent. Panorama said it would pass the findings to the police. In a place as secretive as Jersey, the police need all the help they can get.

Panorama: Jersey - Island of Secrets was broadcast on BBC One on 31 March at 8.30pm.

As people who follow my blog will know we have been fighting the Abuse Cover- Up since 2008. We have published and investigated many aspects of this shocking cover-up, the evidence is there for all to see. One of the most important things I have done during those past 3yrs is call in the BDO Report into financial management of Operation Rectangle..

The Home Affairs Sub Panel should be releasing their report this week.

This all started with a comment from Lenny Harper on an interview he did with "VoiceforChildren".

I was staggered that BDO hadn't interviewed Lenny Harper. What came out in the Scrutiny hearings was a real eye opener. All the people involved gave evidence some more than once. This review cannot be easily dismissed for the simple reason all the transcripts are up on line. I will see what the review comes up with and then blog extensively on it.

One of the most damning and serious aspects to come out of the hearing was the conduct of former Senior Investigating Officer of the Historic Child Abuse Investigation D/Superintendent Mick Gradwell.

I await the Sub Panels Review

WHAT HAS THEM SO WORRIED?

LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS

Do you know who is going to be taking part in this review, and if so can you publish the names, thanks

"Bwahaha. They are almost the only newspaper employees in the world who would defend David Rose. "

David Rose, yes. A very complex man, a member of the secret service. Does anyone know how to contact him? I think that would be a good idea, simply to talk to David Rose, as he holds all the aces!

Here is another very interesting David Rose article. It may be significant, it certainly stood out to me, that the acronym FTAC is an anagram of FACT. Remember FACT, the organisation that Richard Webster set up - David Rose's friend - that discredited Operation Rectangle and other police investigations into institutional child abuse.

Paedophiles love word play, they set up the Wonderland Club and used Alice in Wonderland terms to identify themselves to fellow members.

You and Pitman deserve medals for managing to trash your own review by blogging all the way through it.

voiceforchildren said...

Rico.

Trevor Pitman should be applauded for keeping the public informed, rather than the secrecy that this government is infamous for.

The PPC Chairman has form when it comes to SECRECY

BDO conduted a review a review I helped pay for. I wasn't happy with what I saw. I started asking questions. I started the ball rolling. I took it it to Scrutiny. I did something. I don't hide. You show fear. Why?

You want the review trashed like everything else why? The evidence is there and it is loud and clear. Maybe BDO feeling like Lenny Harper did when he read their Review.

In my opinion Gradwell & the Jersey State Media have some very serious questions to answer. Not to me and you but to the people who suffered the most horrific abuse in Jersey.

Read the transcripts

Stop putting words in other people mouths.

The review should never have been blogged about until it was finished and that in itself is how you have managed to trash it yourself, nobody else.

I forgot to enclose the David Rose FTAC article, sorry, here it is.

Well, it's one way of getting rid of your political opponents I suppose - get the Court of Corruption (oops I mean Protection) to falsely assess them as being raving lunatics, drag them away to a place where they can "get help" and once everyone has forgotten about them quietly dispose of them. Nasty.

None of us will be forgetting about Stuart though.

Philip Ozouf was blogging about the Lime Grove review when it was ongoing what does the Troll think of that?

Zoompad said...

I remember the last time Stuart was in La Moye about someone - was it Bridget Shaw, I can't remember now - trying to get a phychological assessment done on Stuart. I just remember that someone was pushing for it to be done.

Stuart's already been to see his GP - and thanks to the Blog of Doom we all know who Stuart's GP is, because of the Doombloggers illegally posting confidential details about Stuart's medical affairs, and making nasty and illegal comments about his GP. Which I would have thought would have brought at least 10 policeman a running and bashing the door of the Blog of Doom headquarters down and seizing the offending computer that the illegal remarks were made upon, if Stuart's own treatment by Jersey police brigade is anything to go by.

Stuart does not need any "help" of the sort those creeps have in mind.

"Over zealous blogging me thinks"

"me thinks", yes, I have heard you use that phrase before, Mr Naughty Troll. On my latest blog post was it, or is it on the latest Blog of Doom post? I can't remember, but I think I will go and have a peep.

Has anyone else noticed that the few followers of Saint Syvret that are left, have the same phraseology when they write anything. Like it was some kind of a cult ideology.
Me thinks they protest to much, to listen to there rantings you would think that they were the only people to care about child abuse.

Oh dear, oh dear Rico - does this fool not realise that all the Scrutiny meetings were open to the public, and the so-called media reported on them, so what on earth is the problem with you and Trevor blogging about it?

Moreover if he/she had attended they may have heard several things that would have made their ears prick up, including the obscene sum of money BDO were trying to extract from Scrutiny and the Jersey taxpayer.

Nothing wrong with making that public.

Rico,

I listened to the states sitting this morning and found myself laughing at the size of the hole the lady from ppc was digging for herself.

Well done for having the balls to keep on going. This tenacity must really wind up the ones who have tried to de-rail your work for many years now.

Keep going the truth is out

Here's a question.

Are you annoyed that, in your view, Rico "trashed the review"?

Or are you gloating about the possibility?

I'm getting the impression it's the latter. How do you think the outside world view it?

Dearie me.

GeeGee said...

Rico - do you or Trevor have any idea who complained to PPC about your blogging and BDO Alto?

I can hazard a few guesses, but it would be good to know for a fact.

Zoompad said...

"Or are you gloating about the possibility?

They will be having their secret little meetings to discuss this. They always do.

GeeGee

I hope that the JerseyWay will have the audio up tonight. From what I remember of the statement I believe it was Bdo.

THJ- Should have it up about 9.30

I will also be interviewed by VFC tomorrow as to why I approached the Scrutiny panel with my concerns.

Can you imagine James Murdoch proclaiming to British MPs that people discussing and reading articles on the actions of News International lawyers behaviour in spying on lawyers, etc how this is being discussed and disected on blogs, etc, how, that would make any difference to the outcome of Parliamentary select committee?

rico sorda said...

I was concerned about what I had found and did what I thought was right. I have never forgotten that the underlying issue with all this is Child Abuse. Do you just do nothing or do you try and do something? for me it is as simple as that. I would have hoped that the local Media had done this but alas it wasn't to be. I believe that this has more to do with the editorial decision makers than the foot sloggers.

I new I would become a target for the lunatic fraternity. Showing fear cant be the way forward. If the serious issues that are highlighted in the Scrutiny Transcripts are not addressed then what of the future safety of children who are still in the care of the States of Jersey

We. at the Voice, do what we have to.

And Tom Watson he is on committee yet is digging and tweeting for information, all to be applauded in my opinion.

Rico.

Tom Watson MP who is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee investigating the phone hacking of NOTW. This is still an ongoing investigation and Juliette Gallichan thinks it's naughty for a Jersey Politician to give an interview to the discredited CTV and a Blogger.

Tom Watson gives interviewS on a regular basis to the National MEDIA

Welcome to the real world Juliette, it's not as secretive as Jersey.

Desperation has set in.

If Scrutiny's BDO disasterous conclusions gone out this morning without any kind of excuses/stalling from the establishment.

Hi Rico.

You & your reader's can Lisen to the Statement that was given today from the Chairman of PPC HERE

GeeGee said...

BDO have rather been hoisted by their own petard then, because this matter will now reach a wider audience than it did through the blogs!

Even though Juliette Gallichan said they had now withdrawn their request for payment 'for services rendered' to Scrutiny, Trevor sais that this is not the case.

It will be interesting to see who is correct

Boy hanged himself over return to Jersey's Haut de la Garenne care home
Exclusive by Greig Box Turnbull 7/03/2008

A boy of 14 hanged himself because he could not bear going back to the children's home at the centre of a child-abuse scandal.

Michael O'Connell had told best friend Terence Bizouarn in 1966 he would kill himself rather than return to Jersey's Haut de la Garenne - and he took his own life four days later.

Dulcie De La Haye, who was looking after Michael with her husband Donald, said last night: "He hated it there. He told me of a windowless room where he was locked up for 24 hours.

"I will speak to the police if they want to know about Michael."

More than 160 former residents of the home have come forward to give accounts of torture and sexual abuse.

Yesterday a photograph emerged of a summer fete at the home which showed two young semi-naked children wearing nothing more than fig leafs.

Jersey Health minister Ben Shenton vowed to "leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of any wrongdoing".

What exactly did Mr. Pitman blog about that was so highly conflicted?

The link to Oscar Puffin on gsyfutu was uncalled for , he IS trying to get help.
In the meantime my research into 'who received 'unpaid for' PR from certain sources' in the recent elections , so that when the expenses list comes out some interesting events can follow, has unearthed a very interesting fact.

Who has changed their address on legal documents from' A tiny damp cottage' Lower St.Martins to .... wait for it... Media House, Lower St. Martins all without moving!!!?

Answers on the proverbial self addressed post card,no stamp required.
