Deputy Bob Hill

Deputy Bob Hill

I would like to say a very big thank you to Deputy Bob Hill

Mr Hill lost his his seat as Deputy of St Martin during wednesday election

Bob has served the parish of St Martin for 18 years. He has fought hard for the parishioners and parish on many different issues  not least the long drawn out saga of the roads ownership of Maufant Village. His attendance at parish meetings and states sittings have been second to none. In the past 3 years Deputy Hill has brought 29 propositions and over 100 oral and written questions to the states. Mr Luce, who defeated Bob at this election,  has a very tough act to follow. I wish Mr Luce  all the best in serving the parish of St Martin and the people of Jersey.

I have heard all sorts as to why Deputy Hill lost this election.

Deputy Hill fought the corner of former suspended Chief of Police Graham Power & the victims of horrific Abuse in the care of the States of Jersey. I have heard that people were getting sick of the amount of time  Bob spent asking questions concerning the Napier Review into the suspension of Graham Power. What people don't realise, or just wish to gloss over, is that one of the reasons so many questions had to be lodged was simply because our Chief Minister was openly misleading the house. Yes, Chief Minister Le Suer spent about 8 months openly misleading the house. I will call it straightforward bullsh*ting.

I could go on for ever on this issue. I will await the findings of the BDO Review before coming back to this subject and other related matters

Deputy Hill conducted himself with complete integrity

He Leaves the States with his head held High. A man   who never backed away from asking the difficult questions. If we just wont nodding dogs then so be it.  The States under the Ozouf/Le Suer leadership has been disastrous make no mistake .

When I started this post I had so much I wanted to say but I will leave it by saying that i'm gutted that Bob lost his seat and wish him  all the very best in his retirement.

Never ever let Truth, Honesty & Integrity become an issues as to wether one gets elected or not.

If you do, then you are no good to me or the people of Jersey

Thanks again Deputy Hill

Bob Hill is a legend with true grit and integrity who will be missed by the people seeking truth and justice. Speaking of which can't wait until you get your teeth stuck back into the BDO debacle. Keep up the good work Rico.

Rico.

Bob has just published a BLOG

He will be a huge loss to the "good" people of Jersey and like you say Steve Luce has got a big pair of shoes to step into. Let's hope he can fill them!

Things are going to get very interesting with the new house and it won't take long to suss out who's going to be kissing who's ass. Bob Hill never kissed anybody's which is what probably cost him his seat but he should be proud of himself for that.

so not only do we have politicians and civil servants trying to deny corruption and cover ups,but now we have voters doing it a swell? What is up with this place.

Bob will be a political loss to the Island and St.Martins.He will not be replaced by 'more of the same', that is a truism. However, Steve Luce is nobodies poodle, we will have a new and independent voice with a new voice and a new approach, give him a chance. I personally think he will be shaken to the core by the the operation of the 'deus machina'of the States and even more so with our newly appointed supreme leader PB and his relatives .The rub is how he deals with it, watch this space.

Feeling guilty for Bob losing his seat because of your constant prompting of him to ask questions about a failed investigation which ultimately lead to his downfall are we ? Lets hope Steve has more sense eh ?

I feel guilty about asking Bob to stand in this election when he said he wasn't. Mr Luce has been fairly elected and I wish him well.

Thank you

"so not only do we have politicians and civil servants trying to deny corruption and cover ups,but now we have voters doing it a swell? What is up with this place."

The JEP is the answer to that.

Another answer is having spoken to the only over voter at my work about the child abuse issues was the answer, it happens everywhere so why should Jersey be dragged through the mud. Obviously they voted Ballhache.

It would have been much better for Jerseys reputation to have hit the issue head on and say no more, we as an Island will not stand for it. Which I think is what Frank Walker thought would be the right aproach until he realised the mess it would cause for the government.

I see it, and do not take this the wrong way as it will probably sound bad, as an opportunity lost to prove that our Island wont stand for that behaviour. But then what is to be expected when it could apparently have brought the government down, there is only one option left to them lot and that is cover it up once again at all costs.

One day the truth will come out and I am sure they know that but by covering it up a bit longer means it wont be in their own lifetime so it will be left to others to apologise for their disgraceful attitudes.

Now that the election is out of the way my attention will focus on the "not wanted at any cost" Committee of Enquiry & the BDO Review.

The BDO Review has highlighted the role that the Jersey State Media has played in the Cover Up of Child Abuse. I await their report.

The Jersey State Media was so obviously biased in the run up to the election. Not every Senatorial Candidate can have Bright & Shiply running their election campaign.

The role of the Jersey State Media must be tackled

The reason for not doing a follow up post on my friend is that I can not obtain the evidence. I will be returning to it. I have spoken with her lawyer and will be deffinatley looking at it.

The BDO Review is well overdue?

Will it ever be allowed to come out?
