JERSEY POLICE CHIEF MIKE BOWRON - IS HE UNDER INVESTIGATION?

CHIEF POLICE OFFICER, MIKE BOWRON

DEPUTY MIKE HIGGINS

The Oral Question from Deputy Higgins

What's going on?

Is  Police Chief Mike Bowron under investigation?

According to Deputy Higgins it would seem so.  What could the investigation be about I wonder? There are a lot of complaints relating to past Police Investigations that the good Deputy is dealing with - without much success. The Deputy  has now turned to the Home Affairs Minister for answers.  As per usual, this proves very hard.  Getting  straight answer from our Ministers is a near impossible.

What's going on down the Police Station? Should we be concerned with the leadership of Mike Bowron? He is known down the station as "Gameshow Mike."  He spends a lot of time walking the town and maybe not enough time doing some work.

The issue raised by Deputy Higgins are very serious and deserve some very good answer from the Home Affairs Minister. If the Minister doesn't know what is going on then he better find out because you can be sure the Deputy will be asking him again. As you can see from the VFC posting that can be read on the link provided.

it would seem that CPO Bowron uses the Jersey Evening Post as a trusted news source. That part alone I find hilarious.

Something is going on. You will read it on the blogs first.

  1. Deputy M.R. Higgins of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Minister for Home Affairs –

  2. “Is the Minister satisfied with the way in which complaints made by serving and former police officers and the public have been investigated by the Jersey Police Complaints Authority, the Deputy Chief of the States of Jersey Police and the Professional Standards Department?”

Having just read VFC's blog, all I can say is Chris Bright doesn't live up his name! It's as plain as daylight that they owe Trevor Pitman and Mike Bowron an apology.

Le Marquand dodged all the questions again and I for one would like to know more about the perverting the course of justice deputy Higgins spoke of. And if Higgins has got 12 constituents complaining of police corruption that could mean there are hundreds that haven't come forward possibly out of fear. If an outside police force isn't investigating Mike Bowron or his police force then perhaps it's time they did because this smells very much like THE JERSEY WAY to me.

It's not your job or a politicians job to question the police and they should be let alone to keep law and order on the island without interference.

Rico.

A complaint is made to Deputy Chief Officer Barry Taylor about Deputy Chief Officer Barry Taylor. Deputy Chief Officer investigates Deputy Chief Officer Taylor and finds Deputy Chief Officer Taylor has no case to answer and Senator Ian Le Marquand is happy with the way things are running down at police HQ........Absolutely priceless!! #OnlyInJersey

"It's not your job or a politicians job to question the police and they should be let alone to keep law and order on the island without interference."

They can question them all that they want but they never get anywhere because it has been the same for years.

A reader says:

"It's not your job or a politicians job to question the police and they should be let alone to keep law and order on the island without interference."

What a fool.

It is the right - indeed, it could be described as a duty - of every citizen to question authority.

Especially very powerful authority, such as police forces.

It most certainly is the job of journalists like Rico - and our elected politicians - to question the performance and conduct of the police.

It's called 'checks and balances' - 'public scrutiny'.

Anyone in a public authority who doesn't like that, is in the wrong job.

Get out of the kitchen.

I assumed this was a tongue-in-cheek statement for our amusement, was it not?

Since when has Rico been classed as a journalist? Jesus anybody can write make believe stories on a blog, even I could set one up and start stories in half an hour. Get over yourselves for once will you.

Real Journalism has been hijacked, we need Investigative reporters like Rico.

The JEP journalists people are supposed to investigate corruption, but because the JEP is just an arm of the government they are corrupted and don't dare to do it.

Our supposed to be " professional" journalists are nothing more but conflicted traitors!

and they should be known publicly for turning their cheek on damning corrupt government stories
